Drop-off and Dismissal Procedures

In order to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff, we ask that you adhere to the following procedures.
Morning Drop-off
Student drop off is from 7:15 am to 7:40 am. Supervision is not available prior to 7:15 am. Parents of students in kindergarten through fifth grade are asked to use the valet lane located at the east entrance off of NW 45th Avenue. We ask that students unload between the crosswalks at the front of the school. Parking is reserved for Pre-k and VPK families, school staff, and families/visitors who need to enter the front office. As a reminder, all school visitors must sign-in with proper identification. All Pre-k and VPK students must be escorted to the entrance of building two. Only school buses and school board employees will be allowed to access the bus loop. Should students arrive after the morning bell, the parent/guardian must sign them in at the front office.
Picking Up Children from School Early
Any student being picked up prior to the end of school must be signed out by the parent/guardian with proper identification from the front office. For safety reasons, students may not be checked out after 1:15 p.m. If you arrive after that time, you will need to pick up your student using the valet lane. We will begin calling cars after the dismissal bell.
Afternoon Dismissal
Please pick up kindergarten through fifth grade students using the valet lane located on the east side of campus off of NW 45th Avenue. As you arrive, please display your car tag at the front of your vehicle. A member of our staff will call for your student. They will meet you in front of building 2. Our staff will assist them in loading. We ask that you remain in your vehicle at all times.
During dismissal, the parking lot area is reserved for VPK and Pre-K families, school staff, or school visitors. As a reminder, all VPK and Pre-K students must be signed in and out daily. Students in kindergarten through fifth grade will not be dismissed to the parking lot. Please do not park and ask for a staff member to call for your student.
If you are electing to have your student walk/bike home, please complete the walker/biker waiver. You may access the waiver digitally here or from the front office. Students will not be dismissed through walker/biker without a waiver on file. As a reminder, we will not hold students in the walker/biker area. If your student needs to be picked up by an adult, you will need to go through the valet lane.
Change in Way Home
To change how your student goes home, please send a note to your child's homeroom teacher. You may also email changes to nortonattendance from the email you have listed in Skyward. Please note that for safety reasons, changes in Way Home will not be accepted via email after noon each day.
