    Volunteer Opportunity: Digital Classroom Assistants

Currently, we are recruiting volunteers who are comfortable on Zoom to put their skills to use by assisting our Hyflex teachers who are teaching in-person and online simultaneously. Digital Classroom Assistants have the opportunity asssist teachers by helping take attendance, engaging with students in the chat box, monitoring/answering questions, facilitating games for the DA students, and more! There are a number of ways teachers may utilize classroom assistants based on the needs of their students, but we need your help! We are asking volunteers to spend at least one hour a week serving in a teacher's class, and we have opportunities at several schools, grade levels, and subjects!

If you're interested in learning more, please attend one of our Virtual Volunteer Orientations. Please CLICK HERE to register for one of the following dates:

    Connecting Community and Classrooms

We appreciate your interest in volunteering in the Alachua County Public Schools. If you don't know where you want to volunteer or what type of volunteering you are interested in, it is recommended that you contact the district School Volunteer Office before you complete the volunteer application! If you know where you want to volunteer, please complete the volunteer application and submit all information requested. It is very important that the information you enter on the application matches your government-issued identification card including your full legal name. It is also important that you provide a valid email address so you can be notified as to the status of your application and for future communication.

You are required to complete a new application each year. All applications for the 2019-20 school year will expire on June 30, 2020. As part of standard safety practices, all volunteers and visitors must provide a photo ID each time they visit an Alachua County Public School or facility. A national check of the sexual predator registries is completed each time a volunteer checks into our facilities. Other criminal history websites are checked as warranted.

Please answer all legal questions completely and honestly to ensure that you will be eligible to volunteer. Please refer to the information below to answer the questions.
