Some colleges and universities use their own applications that can be found on their website.

The Common Application is widely used among colleges and universities as an application platform. Your counselors recommend using the Common Application when it is offered. Here are a few pointers when creating your Common Application:

• connect the application to your counselor
• make sure that your list of colleges/universities is up to date and accurate
• attach a deadline date for each school listed (this is done by indicating the term you wish to start college)
• check each school's application requirements, especially take note of which schools require a letter of recommendation from counselor and/or teacher (some schools want them, some do not!)
