Our Mission:
The BHS Guidance Program works alongside the school’s mission and is designed to focus on the developmental needs of students. We provide skills, competencies and knowledge in the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development. Our focus is on each student reaching his or her potential and achieving academic success. Counselors are available to help students through large group (classroom) guidance, individual counseling and by collaborating with teachers and families. The Guidance Counselors at BHS work closely with other Student Services staff, including the school psychologist, the ESE staffing specialist, the Deans and the nurse.
Please do not hesitate to set up a meeting to see your student's Guidance Counselor for any help. For parent/teacher conferences please allow 48 hours notice to inform the teachers before a meeting. Most parent/teacher/counselor meetings are held at 7:45 A.M. Please note that the best way to get information about your student's success in the classroom is to contact the teachers directly, preferably via e-mail.
