Idylwild Elementary School was built over 50 years ago in a residential neighborhood off Williston Road in Gainesville, FL.

Thanks to Alachua county citizens and the half cent sales tax initiative, we are excited to begin a major school renovation project in June 2020. We will be adding a new classroom building that will house a brand new cafeteria. All other classroom and office spaces will be renovated with new parking, lighting, flooring and paint. Anticipated completion is August 2021 in time for the 2021/2022 school year. You can find out more about the project by visiting the school district facilities update page here.

Students and teachers will be temporarily relocated to a swing school facility just east of the current campus at 1700 SE 35 Ave near Paynes Prairie's La Chua Trail. The campus, formerly known as Prairie View Elementary has been completed remodeled and outfitted with new playground equipment, technology upgrades, and lighting.

Student enrollment area will not change. Transportation will be provided if needed.
