TALBOT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIBRARY
-
The world belongs to those who READ. ~ Rick Holland, English Poet
Mission Statement
The mission of the Talbot Elementary Media Center is to provide an environment that encourages intellectual inquiry and reading for pleasure. We offer a rich collection of print and electronic resources to support our educational programs. Our certified media specialist guides students through the inquiry process; how to develop effective questions to find information, interpret the information for further inquiry, and understand and share this knowledge with others. It is our goal to maintain a warm, inviting environment where students feel welcome and comfortable. With the many resources and varied tools available, reading should be FUN and research should be exciting!
Hours of Operation
The library is open Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 1:45 PM. Students may check out books, return books, place books on hold, take AR tests (2023-24: 2nd grade only), and read quietly. Regularly scheduled media classes are on rotation every 2 days. Students may return books at any time by placing them in the book return box inside of the library.Lost and Damaged Books
If a book is lost or damaged, the book must be paid for or replaced before the end of the school year. Should the book be found and returned in good condition before the school year is over, payment for a lost or damaged book will be reimbursed. Debts remaining at the end of the school year may be turned in to the office and become a part of the student’s permanent file. Any items checked out at the time a student withdraws from school must be returned and paid for upon withdrawal.Read, Read, Read!
