MISSION
The mission of the Archer Elementary School Guidance and Counseling Program is to empower all students, of every background, to be successful in school and become productive, responsible citizens. Through a comprehensive, competency-based developmental school guidance and counseling program the school counselor will address the academic, personal/social and career needs of the students and will advocate for the equity and success of ALL students.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Classroom Guidance
An educational approach to meeting the academic, personal/social and career needs of the children based upon the developmental level of the group. The large group classroom guidance curriculum includes, but is not limited to:
- Conflict resolution
- Student success skills
- Healthy habits
- Multicultural awareness
- Career exploration
Small Group Counseling
This service is available for students experiencing a problem, crisis or need for additional support from the school counselor and peers who are facing a similar situation. Students with common needs are brought together in groups of 2-8.
Individual Counseling
Counseling is available for students whose needs require a private and confidential setting. Individual counseling sessions can address concerns in the academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and career domains.
Consultation
In an effort to maximize student success consultation services are available for students, parents/guardians and school-based educational professionals expressing an interest in having a cooperative effort in problem-solving.
