Free Internet Access through School bus WiFi Program
To support students without internet access, Alachua County Public Schools is launching School Bus WiFi, a program that will send school buses equipped with free ‘hot spots’ into local communities.
School Bus WiFi is available at 45 sites throughout Alachua County for three hours every weekday. Students within about 150-200 feet of the bus, either at home or in a vehicle, will be able to access the network school bus wifi. A password will not be needed, but the district is requesting that people limit the use of the network for distance learning ONLY.
Students and their families are reminded to maintain social distancing when accessing the program. NO supervision will be provided, and children should NOT be left unattended at the sites.

Free meals will continue while schools are closed
Children 18 years old and younger can receive free breakfast and lunch from Alachua County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Department. Meals will continue while schools are closed.
Mondays through Fridays, children will receive a cold, grab-and-go lunch for that day and breakfast for the following morning. At the schools and community sites, meals will be distributed from 11a.m.-1 p.m.
The district has also received permission from the federal government to provide meals to students to eat over the weekends. Those meals will be given out to students on Fridays.
Children do not have to be enrolled at a particular school or program to receive meals. They also do not have to be eligible for free and reduced price meals during the regular school year to take advantage of the program.

School Closure
Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that Florida schools will remain closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year and that distance learning will continue through the end of the school year, which for Alachua County Public Schools will be May 29.

Packet Pick up:
New packets are available beginning every Monday. Packets can be picked up from the bins on tables in the front car circle weekdays 8am-3pm.
School Counselors Available:
We realize that the COVID-19 crisis is creating additional stress for all families. If your student is experiencing significant emotional distress, our school counselors are available to provide support by phone or video chat. You may contact your child's school or email the counselor directly to set up an appointment during school hours.
If an immediate need for counseling arises outside of school hours, the Alachua County Crisis Center can assist at (352) 264-6789.
