Agriculture is a multibillion dollar industry that is becoming increasingly more technical and business oriented. According to AgCareers.com, "within the last 20 years, agriculture has expanded and become so diverse, giving job seekers a wide variety of careers to choose from. There are significant jobs in production, economics, marketing, agribusiness, technology, sales, finance, microbiology, communications, and much more." Read more here.
Agriculture education can begin at Hawthorne High School and continue at a vocational center, a community college, or university.
Magnet Requirements:
- 2.5 GPA
- No more than 10 unexcused absences
- No "major" referrals
