Each year the American Culinary Federation holds its National Convention which includes competitions for many categories including, Chef Educator of the Year. This year Chef Bedford was named as a finalist representing the Southeast Region. Not only was she the only female chef selected as a finalist, she was also the only high school educator selected. For the competition, she had to demonstrate a composed entree of her choice. She represented the South and made her version of Southern Shrimp and Cheddar Grits. Judges for this competition were her peers and culinary students.  In August she traveled to Orlando, Florida to compete for the national title and returned a WINNER!
