It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Tuesday, December 3rd:
REMINDER: NHS is a closed campus and students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, students may not have food dropped off or delivered to them at campus. Students are not allowed to bring Polar Cups or “to go” cups to campus. Water bottles are encouraged and we have several bottle filling stations around campus.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. There are still some remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Panthers, if you are in search of volunteer opportunities the Suwannee Valley Kennel Club of Florida is seeking volunteers for the annual Dog Show on Saturday (December 7th). The show will be 8:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center in Newberry. Stop by the NHS Guidance Office for more information. Also, see Mrs. Ross in the NHS Guidance Office for other opportunities.
There will be a meeting for anyone interested in playing lacrosse today after school in the NHS East TA. See Coach Jackson if you have any questions.
The Freshmen SGA will meet before school tomorrow at 8:00 am in the NHS Media Center.
Representatives from the US Army are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
The National Honor Society will have a meeting for new members ONLY tomorrow before school at 8:10 am in Mrs. Troy’s classroom.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center tomorrow. Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested in this fantastic program. Visit their website for more information about this opportunity: https://www.sfcollege.edu/prepare/achieve/
The NHS Book Club will hold a meeting after school tomorrow from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm in Ms. Talkington’s classroom in the Science Building. All are welcome!
The FCA will have a meeting this Friday (December 6th) before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
Seniors, there are only a few guaranteed seats remaining for this year's Grad Bash at Universal Studios. If you are interested in participating, make sure to see Mr. Marlowe in order to provide your deposit before all the guaranteed seats are taken!

TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult.
