December 4, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, December 4th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. There are still some remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Panthers, if you are in search of volunteer opportunities the Suwannee Valley Kennel Club of Florida is seeking volunteers for the annual Dog Show on Saturday (December 7th). The show will be 8:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center in Newberry. Stop by the NHS Guidance Office for more information. Also, see Mrs. Ross in the NHS Guidance Office for other opportunities.
There will be an informational meeting for any students interested in participating in Track during Lunch A and Lunch B tomorrow in the East TA. Make sure to stop in to get more information!
The FCA will have a meeting this Friday (December 6th) before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
NHS Yearbooks are now on sale for $55.00. After February 1, 2025, the price of the Yearbooks will increase to $65.00, so don't wait to get yours! You can place your order for a Yearbook at https://sites.google.com/gm.sbac.edu/yearbook/home. The ordering website also has important information AND deadlines for Class of 2025, NHS staff, Student Government, Clubs, and special projects for the Yearbook. Check back often for updates!
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
