May 9, 2025 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Friday, May 9th:
As we continue with end-of-year testing, make sure you are prepared by getting a good night’s sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and getting to school on time! Please also minimize late check ins and early check outs to avoid causing disruptions to other students who are testing around campus.
Students, please return any textbooks or library books you may have, even books you may have acquired from another school in the county. This is especially important for our Seniors in order to remain off the debt list as the end of the year approaches. All books must be turned in by the end of the year or you will be charged for them.
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue next week (Monday through Thursday) after school in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. There are many remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Seniors, if you are interested in becoming a speaker or singer at the graduation commencement ceremony, start planning ahead as auditions will be held in the NHS Auditorium on Wednesday (May 14th) at 3:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you all then!
ACPS has partnered with Parent Guidance for education and therapeutic support to empower and give you hope as you support your child’s mental health. Explore the library and click to access a wealth of resources with overview and deep dive videos, key facts, practical tips, related articles, and upcoming live events. Visit https://parentguidance.org/ for more information.
We hope you find these Daily Announcements a useful resource for the happenings at NHS. These posts are also shared on our NHS website (https://www.sbac.edu/newberryhigh) and remain available there for the entire school year. Don’t forget to visit the NHS Student Information Center (https://www.sbac.edu/domain/5439) for information regarding NHS activities and events, testing, and graduation requirements, as well as assistance with post-secondary plans.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
