May 15, 2025 Announcements
It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther!

Here are the announcements for Thursday, May 15th:
REMINDER: ALL STUDENTS parking on NHS school property MUST have a parking decal and parking is ONLY permitted in designated areas (junior and senior parking lots). NO parking is allowed in any other areas on campus, including along the gym or the football field. If you park in any unauthorized area on the NHS campus, your vehicle is subject to being towed from the property.
As we continue with end-of-year testing, make sure you are prepared by getting a good night’s sleep, eating a healthy breakfast, and getting to school on time! Please also minimize late check ins and early check outs to avoid causing disruptions to other students who are testing around campus.
Students, please return any textbooks or library books you may have, even books you may have acquired from another school in the county. This is especially important for our Seniors in order to remain off the debt list as the end of the year approaches. All books must be turned in by the end of the year or you will be charged for them.
The FCA will have its last meeting for the school year TOMORROW before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
Seniors, if you have not yet paid to participate in next week's Senior Week activities, please make sure to do so ASAP. The cost is $25.00 and must be paid to Mr. Marlowe in his classroom or to Mrs. Walker in the NHS Front Office. Additionally, Mrs. Walker can answer any questions you may have.
There will be an Environmental Science Club meeting before school on Monday (May 19th) at 8:00 am in Mrs. Spina’s classroom.
ACPS has partnered with Hazel Health, meaning your student can get high-quality telehealth care at no cost to your family. Students can get teletherapy at school or at home on any smartphone, tablet, or computer. All Hazel Health visits are safe and confidential. Visit https://getstarted.hazel.co/district/alachua for more information.
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther Way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
