November 6, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Wednesday, November 6th:
REMINDER: Panthers, don't forget to bring your laptop and charging cord to school EVERY DAY as most of the testing this year will be done on the laptops. Additionally, these laptops provide important access to digital textbooks and assist students in transitioning between classwork, testing, and homework. (If your laptop has stopped working or has other operational issues, please bring it so the NHS Site Tech, Mr. Phillips, can investigate and diagnose any issues.)
Panthers, please remember there will be no school on Monday (November 11th) as we observe Veterans Day in order to honor military veterans of the US Armed Forces. For those who have served to protect our country, we thank you for your service!
After school CROP sessions for students who are credit deficient for graduation will continue this week (today through Thursday) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 6:15 pm. There are many remaining dates and it’s not too late to participate! If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
A representative from Stetson University in Daytona Beach FL will be at the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to speak with students about the amazing opportunities they offer. Make sure to stop by to learn more and visit their website for information: https://www.stetson.edu/
The FCA will have a meeting this Friday (November 8th) before school at 8:10 am in the NHS Gym. If you’d like to become involved, make sure to stop by!
We are committed to the success of ALL our students! Panthers, please remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
TODAY’S REMINDER:
Dress Code: Make sure your school attire is appropriate and not distracting. You may not wear baggy/saggy pants and bottoms will not be shorter than “mid thigh”. Tops must cover the midriff, back, and sides of the body at all times. You may not wear bedroom slippers or shoes with wheels. Head coverings of any kind are not permitted to be worn inside. Failure to follow the dress code guidelines may result in lunch detention.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
