February 9, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Friday, February 9th:
Representatives from the US Army National Guard are scheduled to be on the NHS campus on Monday (February 12th) during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Monday (February 12th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested.
After school CROP sessions will begin on Monday (February 12th) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. Students who were recommended to participate in order to retrieve credits for graduation received an email yesterday with information for attendance. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
As Valentine’s Day approaches, please remember that flowers, balloons, food, or other items may not be delivered or brought to the Newberry High School campus. Please make other arrangements for your sweetheart, friend, or child on that day.
MAKE UP DAY REMINDER: We will have a regular school day on Friday (February 16th) rather than the student holiday/teacher workday previously scheduled to make up for the school day lost due to the storm on January 9th.
Are you musically talented? Do you play an instrument or sing? We are looking for a musical performance to play at this year's Newberry Pageant on Friday (February 23rd). Please see Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center if you are interested. We can't wait to see you there!
We hope you find these Daily Announcements a useful resource for the happenings at NHS. These posts are also shared on our NHS website (https://www.sbac.edu/newberryhigh) and remain available there for the entire school year. Don’t forget to visit the NHS Student Information Center (https://www.sbac.edu/domain/5439) for information regarding NHS activities and events, testing, and graduation requirements, as well as assistance with post-secondary plans.
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Phones and Headphones: These must be off and out of sight during class, unless your teacher gives specific permission for use. Cell phones, earbuds, airpods, headphones, and other electronic devices are only permitted to be in use before and after school, and during lunch periods. Students who have any types of these devices out when not permitted may receive disciplinary action.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
