February 12, 2024 Announcements

It’s a great day to be a Newberry Panther! 🐾
Here are the announcements for Monday, February 12th:
With Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, please remember that flowers, balloons, food, or other items may not be delivered or brought to the Newberry High School campus. Please make other arrangements for your sweetheart, friend, or child on that day.
MAKE UP DAY REMINDER: We will have a regular school day on Friday (February 16th) rather than the student holiday/teacher workday previously scheduled to make up for the school day lost due to the storm on January 9th.
Representatives from the US Marine Corps are scheduled to be on the NHS campus tomorrow during Lunch A and Lunch B to provide information about military service after graduation. Make sure to stop by if you’d like to receive information.
Representatives from the Santa Fe Achieve Program will be back in the NHS Media Center on Wednesday (February 14th). Make sure to stop by and get more information if you are interested.
After school CROP sessions will begin this week, starting today and continuing through Wednesday (February 14th) in Ms. Burkett’s classroom from 3:00 pm until 5:30 pm. An email was sent last week to parents of students who were recommended to participate in order to retrieve credits for graduation received with information for attendance. If you have any questions, please contact the NHS Guidance Office ASAP.
Are you musically talented? Do you play an instrument or sing? We are looking for a musical performance to play at this year's Newberry Pageant on Friday (February 23rd). Please see Mrs. Kathi Thomas in the NHS Media Center if you are interested. We can't wait to see you there!
We want all our Panthers to remember the Panther way to Success:
*Be Reliable - Maintain consistency with what you say and do
*Be Respectful - Show consideration of someone or something
*Be Responsible - Be dependable, keep promises, and honor commitments
Today’s Reminder:
Tardies: Tardies impact school success and student behavior, are a distraction to all students, and cause a disruption in teaching. Make sure you’re on time every day, to every class. Excessive tardies may result in lunch detention or ISD.
Students, please remember to check your school email accounts every day for important announcements and reminders. Remember, if you are having trouble or have questions about anything at all, turn to an adult. And please, if you see something, say something (www.getfortifyfl.com). “Always remember, Shepp loves the kids!”
