Florida’s K-12 assessment system measures students’ achievement of Florida’s education standards, which were developed and implemented to ensure that all students graduate from middle school ready for success in high school. 
Students in the following courses are subject to state or credit assessment:

• English Language Arts: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
• Mathematics: 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, and Algebra I
• Science:  8th grade Science
• Social Studies: Civics
• Spanish
