The Sidney Lanier Community Garden was created in 2015 by our transitional students and a volunteer master gardener.  Great strides have been made to create a dynamic atmosphere where students can go to learn and connect with nature.  The dual designed garden provides transitional students with employment-related skills while allowing the K-12 students the opportunity to integrate math and science lessons in a non-traditional way.  Transitional students harvest the vegetables and maintain the garden daily. Everything in the garden is organic and has been produced without any pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizer. It is currently being run by Mrs. Moffett and her students. The garden now has a greenhouse and blueberry bushes thanks to the grants we received recently.
