Beyond the Bell After-School Counseling and Academic Advising

Alachua County Public Schools has launched a new initiative to support the academic success and emotional wellbeing of our students.

Beginning March 18, students at Wiles Elementary, Chiles Elementary, Hidden Oak Elementary, Meadowbrook Elementary, Kanapaha Middle, Lincoln Middle, Hawthorne Middle/High, Buchholz High, and Alachua eSchool will be able to participate in the new Beyond the Bell counseling program. The program will supplement the services already provided by counselors during the regular school day by offering virtual counseling and academic advisement sessions after school.

Beyond the Bell is not a therapy program. Instead the goal is to extend the support and guidance typically provided by our dedicated school counselors, ensuring that students have access to assistance beyond regular school hours.

Some key features of the Beyond the Bell include:

• Virtual access to school counselors during specified hours
• Academic advising sessions to help students plan for and achieve their academic goals
• Guidance on various educational and career pathways
