Camp Discovery
Get ready for FUN! Young adventurers, join us for 6 fantastic weeks of summer adventure. Each site has its own exciting theme, from building rockets to a theatrical production. Students are welcome to attend any program throughout the district. Weekly registration is available.
Session I June 9 – June 13 Session II June 16 – June 20 Session III June 23 – June 27
Session IV June 30 – July 3 Session V July 7 – July 11 Session VI July 14 – July 18
(closed July 4th)
Time: 7:30am – 5:30 pm Ages: Kindergarten – 5th grade Students
Monday - Friday (child must be 5 by 9/01/24)
Locations: Alachua, Chiles, Foster, Glen Springs, Hidden Oak, High Springs, Idylwild, Littlewood, Meadowbrook, Newberry, Norton, Parker (formerly Finley), Talbot, Terwilliger, Wiles
** (A minimum of 50 students must be enrolled to operate the program.) **
Cost for Each Session of Camp:
(Rates based on income eligibility) Full Rate $225
(Rates are per child) Scholarship Rate 3 $175
Scholarship Rate 2 $125
Camp fees must be paid in full at the time of enrollment. Families may enroll for a single week at a time if space is available. Spaces will not be held without payment. Families may join different camps throughout the summer based on your child’s interest. Talbot is a drama camp and is not available week by week; it is a 6-week commitment.
Please check with the individual school for additional field trip expenses.
Registration: Applications will be accepted at the camp location from 3:00pm- 5:30 pm. To make arrangements outside these hours, please call 352-955-7766. Register at the school you would like your child to attend. Registration through ProCare is NOT available. All students must go on field trips if in attendance that day.
Space is limited to 75 children at each site, each week.
All payments are due in FULL at the time of registration. Registration for individual weeks will continue until the camp is at capacity. This is an all-day camp which often leaves campus. It is not designed with summer school students in mind. If your child is chosen to attend summer school, EDEP will provide a full refund.
Refunds (minus the $25 non-refundable cancelation fee) may be requested in writing until March 31st.
No refunds after March 31st.
Lunch/Snacks: Breakfast & lunch will be available at all locations through the SBAC Food Service Department.
(please see site for available times) EDEP will provide an afternoon snack.
Many of our field trips & activities include food. Children with severe allergies please consult with the camp you are interested in for more details.

$47.00Scholarships are available and based on household income. The parent must complete an application for Reduced EDEP Fees and income verification to determine the proper EDEP fees to be charged. Until this form is processed and approved, everyone will pay the full rate. We can not change the rate for attendance prior to the date a reduced fees application was approved.
If your child is withdrawing from the program, a request for a refund must be submitted in writing to the On-Site Coordinator within 30 days.
Registration Fee
Enrolling in EDEP a nonrefundable annual registration fee of $25.00 per child, per school is due at registration.Hours of operation for elementary schools is dismissal time until 5:30 pm. Hours of operation for middle schools is dismissal time until 6:00 pm. A late fee of $15 per child, per every 15 minutes starting at closing time.
